Ana Hi - A Waiata Dedicated to the Athletes Representing Aotearoa at the 2016 Games
Have you been getting behind NZ's athletes by singing this song?
Ana Hī!
(This waiata is dedicated to the athletes representing Aotearoa New Zealand at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games)
E oho e te motu
Let the nation hear
Ki te karanga a ō tātau toa e
The call of our champions
Kia puta ai te ihi, te wana ki te ao
Our passion & support for our team spills out all over the world
Ākina atu ai ō tātau hautipua
Aotearoa maranga mai!
Arise New Zealand!
Ana hī! Ana hī! Ana hī hā!
Give it everything!
Ana hī! Ana hī! Ana hī hā!
Give it everything!
Ana hī! Ana hī! Ana hī hā!
Give it everything!
Aotearoa maranga mai!
Arise New Zealand!
Kia kotahi ngā iwi, kotahi whenua kia manawa tahi e
Let all our people unite, one nation, one heart
Kia rangona atu ai te reo ki te ao
So our voice is heard around the globe
Kei reira kei a koutou te arohanui e
We are with you all the way
Aotearoa maranga mai!
Arise New Zealand!
Ana hī! Ana hī! Ana hī hā!
Give it everything!
Ana hī! Ana hī! Ana hī hā!
Give it everything!
Ana hī! Ana hī! Ana hī hā!
Give it everything!
Aotearoa maranga mai!

A visit from an Olympic Gold Medalist
A Visit from Dick Joyce, a Double Olympic Gold Medalist.
On Friday the 5th August we had a special guest come and talk to us about winning two Olympic Gold medals. Hannah's poppa, Dick Joyce, shared with us what it was like to win Gold in rowing at the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico and the 1972 Munich Games. Mr Joyce shared many stories about his Olympics journey with us. He brought in his oar for us to see, it looked very heavy.
He also very generously handed his medals out for us to all hold and look at. Thank you Mr Joyce for coming and talking to us about your Olympic achievements.
Leave a comment below with any further questions you'd like to ask Mr Joyce.
Here are some photos from Mr Joyce's visit.

Wet Weather - Term 2
We had a lot of rain fall today at Paremata School. There was so much rain that our school had to close. We had to put our shoes and socks in our bags and roll up trousers so we could walk through the water barefoot. Keep an eye out for some of writing about this wild weather. However, in the meantime take a look at how much water we had to get through to go home.
