Welcome to Kōwhai

Welcome back to Paremata School for 2016. We hope that like us (Mrs McCarthy, Ms Kamphuis and Miss Milne) you have had a great holiday and are now ready for some fun learning. 

During the holidays, Paremata School decided to make the names of our syndicates and classes more attractive. All teaching teams have been re-named after native trees. The Year 3 and 4 Syndicate will now be known as Kōwhai.  We have kōwhai trees on our school grounds for children to view. The other school syndicates will now be known as follows: 

Year 1&2 - Pohutakawa
Year 5&6 - Kauri 
Year 7&8 - Kahikatea.

Here are the new Kōwhai class names. Room 9 is now Kārearea, Room 10 will be known as Kea. Room 11 is Kākāriki and Room 12 is now Kōkako.
